Danielle began her nursing career with the US Air Force where she was deeply touched by her first experience with organ donation. After completing her active-duty commitment in the Air Force, Danielle joined the field of organ and tissue donation in 1999 with Carolina Life Care in Winston-Salem, NC. Danielle held various positions in the organization, now called HonorBridge. She has been HonorBridge’s President & CEO since 2016.
Danielle’s interest in national healthcare policy led her to The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois, where she earned a law degree in 2008. Danielle and HonorBridge contribute to national organ donation policy development through committee work and engagement with UNOS, the national organ procurement and transplantation network. Danielle appreciates the strong collaborative relationships that exist throughout the organ donation and transplantation community and is a proud member of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) where she has served as chair of several committees and councils.
Danielle leads the passionate and dedicated team at HonorBridge in their work facilitating the generous gifts of heroic organ and tissue donors. This work includes partnering with over 100 hospitals for continuous process improvement efforts to ensure every organ and tissue opportunity is optimal for potential donor families and for all those who wait in hope for the gift of life.
Danielle is a passionate sports fan especially when it comes to the Carolina Panthers and her alma mater’s basketball team, the Marquette University Golden Eagles. In her free time, if you don’t find Danielle spectating or participating in a sporting event (tennis, golf, pickle ball) you will most likely find her enjoying the outdoors of our great and beautiful State of North Carolina.
