HonorBridge Advocates Program: Connecting with Volunteers to Save and Heal Lives

You can make a difference

Are you interested in raising awareness for donation and transplantation? Do you want to honor your donor or your loved one by sharing their story? Are you looking for a meaningful way to encourage others to register as organ, eye and tissue donors? If so, you would be a great candidate for our volunteer program, HonorBridge Advocates!

HonorBridge Advocates program has several types of volunteers so you can find what works for you: Advocates for Life, DMV Ambassadors, and Administrative Assistants.

Advocates for Life

Anyone with a direct connection to donation (recipients, donor family members, those waiting, caregivers, etc.) looking for a meaningful, self-driven opportunity to make a significant impact in their communities are encouraged to join this program. Advocates for Life are responsible for identifying events, speaking engagements, donor drives and other opportunities to educate about donation in their community throughout the year and working those events. Additionally, you may be asked to help at other events or speaking engagements. You will receive online training for this volunteer position, and you will need to pass a background check to qualify to be an Advocate for Life.

DMV Ambassadors

Are you a donor family member, recipient, on the waiting list, care-giver, or donation professional? Do you want to be a VITAL part of making sure those waiting receive the gift of life? If so, you may be a perfect DMV Ambassador. DMV Ambassadors visit their assigned DMV office or offices at least twice a year to thank the staff, share meaningful information, answer questions, and serve as a reminder as to why it is important they ask each customer to register. DMV Ambassadors will receive online training and will need to pass a background check. To find out more about this opportunity, contact us.

Administrative Assistants

Anyone interested in helping with occasional office work such as mailings, filing, event prep, etc. can register as an Admin Assistant. These needs don’t come up with any regularity but those who can assist when they arise are greatly appreciated. This is a terrific opportunity for those without a direct connection to donation to help, but anyone interested is invited to register. No training or background check required. Must be 16 or older, able to get to and from HonorBridge office, and be able to work without supervision.
