The quilt square depicts Gary’s love for the outdoors and the wildlife found there. Gary enjoyed fishing and watching the birds and squirrels gathering to eat in our yard after feeding them.  Gary became a cat lover because of me, his wife; however, he didn’t really like to admit the fact. He was also an avid car and truck enthusiast and even rebuilt and restored a 1955 Ford truck and a 1966 Ford truck. Gary enjoyed collecting old lanterns and looked forward to going to the flea market with his buddies to search for unique finds.
Gary and I were married for 44 years. He was survived by three brothers, two nephews, two nieces, and four great-nephews. He had many friends throughout his life and he never met a stranger. In his younger years, Gary enjoyed boating, water skiing, and hydrogliding. However, when joint problems took over, those activities had to be retired. Gary was very creative and was always making or creating items to make chores a little easier to do.
