The hummingbirds on this quilt square are in memory of my mama, Joy Bliss because she enjoyed watching and feeding them. My mama planted all the good things that gave my life its start. She sacrificed so much, to get me the things that I wanted. She turned me to the sunshine and encouraged me to dream, fostering, and nurturing the seeds of my self-esteem. And when the winds and rains came she protected me enough, but not too much because she knew I needed to grow up strong and tough. Her constant good example always taught me right from wrong. I am her legacy and I hope she feels my love reflected back to her in heaven today. She loved me, her only child-unconditionally and she also loved her Chihuahuas, who were just like her other children and yes we are all spoiled!
