Will was a sweet boy who was an inspiration to many. Although Will could not walk or talk, he changed many lives with his toughness, determination, and beautiful smile. Will loved his family, caregivers, music, and his toy snail, Gary. The Easter Bunny brought him Gary for his first Easter and a lifelong friendship was born. Gary played music when it was moved and as a baby, Will would kick his legs to make Gary play. Then although Will could not crawl, Gary inspired Will to scoot across the floor to chase him. The first time we knew there was a special bond was early on when Will had been in the hospital for several days without Gary. When Will got home and saw Gary, his face lit up like seeing a long lost friend. From then on, Gary was a required traveling partner. Gary was a big part of his life and always brought him so much joy. Will was the purest of spirits. We feel so blessed to have been a part of his life. Will touched so many lives during his short five years. We can only hope to make a fraction of the impact he did. We love and miss him so much.
