Connecting with Faith Communities to Save & Heal Lives

Creating Life-Saving Partnerships

Many people look not only to their medical professionals for end-of-life decision making, but also to their faith leaders. When someone dies, it can call attention to the importance of the spiritual dimension of life. When faced with the decision of organ, eye and tissue donation during the trauma of a loved one’s death, a person’s religion often becomes important. Some people are not aware of their religious group’s doctrine or position regarding donation.

Faith leaders who participate in discussions of donation with their congregants affirm that choosing to be an organ and tissue donor offers the opportunity to share the greatest blessing of all — the gift of life. Most religions in the United States support organ and tissue donation as an honored and compassionate expression of generosity and love.

This is why it’s so important for churches, synagogues, mosques, and other houses of worship to partner with HonorBridge. We aim to build awareness for donation and the vital role of informed decision making. Our team will provide all the materials needed and can often help with guest speakers.
