North Carolina’s largest organ and tissue recovery organization, has announced the promotion of Joel Baucom to Director of Organ Operations. In his executive leadership position, Baucom has the primary responsibility for all activities relating to hospital development, family services, the Life Anew Program that provides aftercare services to donor families, organ recovery, preservation, research, and clinical education of staff.
Baucom has been with HonorBridge for 10 years, most recently as the Manager for Family Services. Prior to joining HonorBridge in August, 2010, he completed Clinical Pastoral Education and served as a chaplain resident at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh. A North Carolina native, Baucom received his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Appalachian State University and his Master of Divinity from Campbell University Divinity School.

Last year, HonorBridge had a record-setting year for saving and healing lives. This includes a 37% increase in organ donors, 32% increase in organs transplanted, 14% increase in tissue donors and 24% increase in tissues recovered.
Baucom will work in HonorBridge’s Durham office at 3621 Lyckan Parkway.
