HonorBridge has named Kimberly Koontz, MPH, CTBS, as Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. Koontz replaces Danielle Bumarch, RN, JD, who was promoted to President/Chief Executive Officer of the organization last October.
“I’m very excited about the future as Kim Koontz assumes the role of Chief Operating Officer at HonorBridge,” said Ms. Bumarch. “Kim’s passion for process improvement along with her talent for energizing efficient teams will continue to positively impact our mission to save and heal more lives.”
Koontz joined HonorBridge in 2004 and served in the roles of Tissue Donation Coordinator and Donor Services Center Manager before being appointed as Director of Tissue Services in 2011. Koontz began her career in donation at the North Carolina Eye Bank, now Miracles In Sight, as their Communications Center Director.
Koontz holds a Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina State University and earned her Master of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Koontz became certified as a Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) in 2005 and is a member of the American Association of Tissue Banks.
