Messages to Inspire Donation in July

Donate Life NC has crafted some wonderful messages to be shared across the state throughout the month of July to help in our joint goal of inspiring more North Carolinians to register as donors.

These messages can be shared by an individual or both internally and externally by an organization. Internal suggestions include: electronic message boards in hospitals and clinics, employee intranets and email messages. Externally, share these via social media — and be sure you are following HonorBridge on Facebook and Donate Life NC on FacebookTwitterLinkedInPinterest.

The Donate Life Transplant Games of America start on July 11! Team NC is sending 12 athletes and 16 supporters to Houston, Texas to compete. Donate Life NC will be sharing stories and updates. You can visit the Tranplant Games of Americal website here, and follow Team NC updates on their Facebook page here.

The Durham Herald-Sun is continuing to run its monthly series of articles about transplant success stories. The next story will run Sunday, July 6 and will feature two friends from NCCU who reconnected as adults – and one became a living donor for the other. Today, they are both 72-years-old and living life to the fullest! Look for links to the story on that date on the Donate Life NC Facebook pageLinkedIn and Twitter accounts.

School’s out for summer – and July and August are the most popular months for teenagers to go to the DMV to get their driver’s licenses. It’s a great time of year to highlight the importance or registering as a donor when you get your license!

Upcoming:

The week of August 1-7 is National Minority Donor Awareness Week. Donate Life NC will have a full content calendar of stories and statistics to share via social media that week. We urge you to plan to share these stories to help us in this important effort to inspire more minorities to register as donors in North Carolina.
