Quilt Square

Created in honor of Jeffrey Holden

This quilt square is made in honor of Jeffrey Newton Holden, a loving and devoted husband, father, son and son-in-law, brother and firefighter. As shown in the photos and fabric, Jeff loved his family, his dogs, his country, fishing, hunting, and the Tarheels. He married his wife Christa and together they had one son, Miller, in 2018. Jeff made his family a priority in his life and he is dearly missed by all of them. The photos are placed on a Florian Cross to represent Jeff’s service as a firefighter. Jeff made a commitment of service and was hired by Orange Rural Fire Department in Hillsborough, NC at the age of 17. He served the community he loved for 15 more years, advancing quickly through the ranks until he became the Assistant Chief. Jeff died soon after returning to the station following a successful trench rescue on August 13, 2018.  He was 32.
