Quilt Square

Created in honor of Stonie Eastman

Stonie was born in Fayetteville, NC, son of Leonard and Jessie Bell Maynor Eastman. He attended The Govenor Morehead School for the blind. He worked as a teacher at GMS then ventured into his own business thrugh the blind association. He owned and operated Eastman Vending until illness set him back in early 2018 with diabetic keto acidosis. Stonie had no children of his own, but loved everyone else’s as if they were his. He was a wrestler during high school at Govenor Morehead, loved to travel and if he rode in your car he could tell you every turn without mistake to anywhere. Once he heard directions you never needed a GPS. He loved family most of all. He was unable to attend the last family gathering, so family came to him – all laying around on the bed spending their last Christmas only one week to his death. He had called all his siblings to thank them for making that his best Christmas ever.
